A Belize Adventure Photography Workshop!

Top up your Travel Photos Library with this unique Belize Adventure Photography Workshop!

How many opportunities are there to hone your photography skills with group workshops and personal instruction from an award winning professional while enjoying an all-inclusive, casually luxurious Belize vacation?

Not many. And this is why Chaa Creek’s Belizean Photo-Safari was created.

Our all-inclusive Belize vacation packages are often inspired by feedback from our guests, which is one of the reasons why they have been so popular. For years now we’ve seen how excited amateur and professional photographers become when they discover the incredible photo opportunities this colourful little multi-cultural country offers.

Recently, one guest remarked, “I wish my skills matched the awesome landscapes, sunsets, wildlife, flowers and people here. You should have photography classes along with everything else you offer.”

She was half joking, but it got our guests’ service manager thinking, “What if…?”

To which owners Mick and Lucy answered, “Why not?”

The concept for Chaa Creek’s Photo-Safari was born!

The more we discussed the idea, the more it made sense. People always say that you can’t help but to return home with beautiful images after a Belize vacation, but for many of us, it depends on luck, and results can be hit or miss. But what if, over the course of a weeklong holiday, you had daily workshops and the personal attention of a highly awarded and internationally recognised British photographer?

What if, in addition to helping you capture great images, he also taught you to manipulate and enhance them with techniques he’s learned and taught over the course of a twenty-year career?

It made perfect sense to us, and to James Millar, who for over two decades has published news, sport and features photographs for a number of British and international publications, and has twice received the Bank’s Press Photographer “Newspaper Photographer of the Year” Award in the UK.

And if it makes sense to you, read on…

Belize Photography Safari Tour 2015

Chaa Creek’s Belizean Photo Safari is an all-inclusive, five-day and nights intensive photography workshop held in a stunning rainforest setting bordered by the Macal River and Maya Mountain foothills of western Belize. An additional two nights on the lovely little Caribbean island of Caye Caulker adds variety and even more opportunities for images and instruction.

As with all Chaa Creek all-inclusive Belize vacation packages, everything – and we do mean everything – is included for one affordable set price.  In addition to a comfortable workshop venue enhanced by the scent of tropical flowers and songs of exotic birds, you’ll receive:

  • Land transfer from Belize International airport, with a visit to the Belize Zoo
  • Eco-luxe, elegantly appointed cottage accommodation
  • Delicious and healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners
  • Guided birding walks and tours of the Natural History Centre and butterfly farm
  • Horseback riding along jungle trails through our 365-acre private nature reserve
  • Visit to the San Ignacio town market  (a multicultural, colourful, photographer’s dream)
  • Visit to the ancient Maya pyramid and ceremonial centre of Xunantunich
  • Four days of photography classes with personal instruction from Mr Millar
  • Access to all amenities including an infinity pool, restaurant and lounge, and extras including treatments at the internationally renowned Hilltop Spa. Child-minding and games room will also be available for families wishing to attend.

The two nights Caye Caulker portion includes:

  • Land transfer to Belize City for the water taxi
  • Water taxi transfer from Belize City to Caye Caulker
  • Air transfer from Caye Caulker to Belize International airport on departure
  • Island view accommodation
  • Full breakfasts, lunches and dinners with fresh Caribbean seafood
  • Full day Caribbean snorkelling tour
  • One day of photography classes
  • Swimming and relaxing on Caye Caulker’s beautiful beaches

You’ll return home relaxed and invigorated, with memories and a portfolio of images that could only be found in Belize, where acres of pristine rainforest, the misty Maya Mountains, monkeys, jaguars, ocelots and other exotic animals as well as toucans, parrots and colourful tropical birds, the turquoise Caribbean, sparkling white beaches and a striking, multicultural populace all compete for your camera’s attention.

Considering what an intensive, weeklong professional course of study would cost, and then adding in the price of an all-inclusive Belize vacation with the level of hospitality and amenities that Chaa Creek is famous for, the Belizean Photo-Safari becomes less of an indulgence and more of a can’t-miss opportunity for anyone interested in enhancing their photographic skills.
