The Belize Tourism Board is proud to announce its newest venture: FACEBOOK BELIZE. This November, in an effort to augment posting and comments on our Belize Vacation Facebook page, the BTB has been working harder than ever to find ways of engaging travelers to share their experiences at all points of their vacation. Travelers, who are heading home from a Belize vacation experience, now have the opportunity to post their experiences from a total of three internet stations that are located in the departure area of the Philip Goldson International Airport at Gates 1, 3 and 4. As is customary, most travelers are subjected to a layover time in the departure lounge and it is our hope that our visitors can utilize these stations to comment on their vacation in Belize prior to their departure.

I’m going to Belize in 2 weeks! I have been invited by the Belize Tourist Board on a “FAM” trip. This is travel industry lingo for “familiarization”. I, along with a bunch of other travel industry professionals, are going on a somewhat insane itinerary: we will visit 27 hotels in 5 days! I wouldn’t call that fun, but many of these are places I have heard of for years but never gotten to, and I am looking forward to seeing them. We will be staying in San Ignacio, Mountain Pine Ridge, Placencia, Hopkins, and San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. I’ll be posting more about the trip when I get there.

CAYO DISTRICT, BELIZE
By Symphony travel
During our October trip to Belize we saw the ancient ruins of Xunantunich, enjoyed the Belize Zoo, went on a River Cave Tubing Expedition, ventured out on a Night Jungle Safari, and even rappelled down a 300ft cave, called The Black Hole Drop. We had an incredible trip but also realize that we barely scratched the surface of the available activities in The Cayo District of Belize.
The Cayo District is the largest district in the country and is located …

I would love to visit Chaa Creek with my family, because I want my children to understand that traveling means meeting new people and opening one’s eyes to a different place and different cultures. We have two girls, and I’ve been looking for a great place to vacation and avoid the overt commercialism of some family vacation places. Basically, I want a princess-free holiday with my girls. I want them to feel good about themselves for trying new adventures, …

I just spent time reading the informative Belize Travel Blog on the Chaa Creek website. In between reading the blogs, I found myself repeatedly clicking on the current weather report link. The current temperature is: 80 degrees F. All I could think about was that warm 80 degrees. How awesome! In sharp contrast to the freezing temperatures of the States that is paradise! Then I thought about the Blue Morpho Butterfly Farm, hiking through the …

I have always tried very hard to be a good person, a hard worker and good parent. I have worked in a special education classroom for 12 years, making many efforts to help our students on many levels. My husband and I have raised 3 foster children (a sibling group we didn’t want to separate) from age 5 to almost adulthood (they are 17 and juniors in high school). We have another daughter who is in college and works with …

Welcome to a world so steeped in history that one needs only to open one’s eyes if you are looking to be fascinated. A family vacation in Belize is worth a hundred social studies classes for children. And a great way for mom and dad to experience first hand, what they were once taught from books.
Hiking through temples or snorkeling the reefs, there is more to discover than you could ever imagine. There is archaeological mystery hidden above and below the earth that are waiting to be discovered by you and your family. Gold, ruins, architecture, and natural wonders are all a part of Belize.

I was made to feel at home whether participating in a Garifuna Drum festival or eating fantastic street food (miss the meat pies the most) offered up at the Bus depot in Belmopan. Being an artist I was also enthralled by the high art that is to be seen while exploring the myriad of Mayan ruins including Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, Caracol. At a time Europe was a complete wreck “the dark ages” Mayan culture was flourishing. There is evidence of trade as far as the American southwest, Architectural advances such as the corbelled arch, an incredible volume of public monument building and an advanced understanding of the night sky and an ingenious calendar system.

In January, 1990, my wife and I were married after five years of dating. She was finishing college at the time. I have been in college on and off ever since. Next month, I will finish my doctorate degree and continue working at the local community college. She is now the mother of our two children and works part time to help us keep the kids in good schools.
Approaching our 20th anniversary and 25th year as a couple, we began …

I have never been very familiar with eco-tourism, but have always yearned to know more of what it is. What would be the best representation of this newfound eco-friendly concept of tourism? My curiosity finally got answered after a visit to the Belize booth, during the Adventures in Travel Expo that happened recently at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Their highlight on The Lodge at Chaa Creek is the epitome of eco-tourism. It is nestled …

Belize: An Adventure Junkie’s Must Visit Destination
I consider myself to be quite the “adrenaline junkie”. Whether its ziplining in the trees of some exotic jungle or rappelling down a waterfall with nothing but a dangling wire separating you from the top of a cliff and the ground, I am always looking for the next big thing. My friend Anna had just gotten back from a trip to Belize and could not stop talking about how amazing it was. “Everyone is …

My husband and I were lucky enough to travel Belize this past summer and were simply captivated by the country and its people. We did get to spend part of our trip at Chaa Creek and when we arrived my husband’s first words to me were “where in the world did you find this place?” The property was just simply amazing. From the beautiful landscaping to the immaculate cottages to the refreshing pool. It was the vacation that we dreamed …

The call from my sister a couple of year ago, went something like this. She wanted to know if she could take my son, Jett on vacation to Virginia with her. Now how is a tired hard working single mom of a 9 year old supposed to respond to that question? After doing back flips down the isle and quickly checking Travelocity I picked up the phone to make sure she hadn’t hung up, but she was on to me. …
