My wife, nephew and his best friend stayed for 4 nights at Chaa Creek. I had stayed there 22 years ago, and there have been some improvements (spa, pool) but I am happy to say the flavor of the hotel has remained the same. It’s a great place to bird watch, glide down a lazy river that’s a 5 minute walk from our room, see a small but excellent museum, and observe morpho butterflys at their own hatchery on the grounds.

Our final day we spent hikng around the resort followed by a horseback riding tour with Robert- who was incredible. We were beginners, he took us through the trails of the property and provided some good Mayan history lessons, too. You really can’t beat riding a horse through the amazing jungle trails.

Cannot say enough great things about our recent 4-night stay at Chaa Creek. From the moment we arrived, we felt the comfort and peacefulness the place had to offer. The staff immediately explained what was included in our package, gave us a little tour and showed us to our beautiful room. No keys - just hammocks issued (in-room safes though).
