When we returned to our room, we were in for quite a surprise. Sitting on our bed was a small wooden box, with glass walls. Inside it was a cocoon, and beside this were two cards, and two vouchers for free drinks at the bar. One letter explained that we were being given a butterfly that would emerge from a cocoon in a couple days time. We were to let it wait at least three hours after it emerges before releasing it. The other letter was welcoming us to The Lodge at Chaa Creek, personalized to us.

Back at our cottage The Daily Jungle Journal was waiting to be perused, with information including the Evening Dinner Menu, the upcoming weather forecast, the Chef’s Corner, the on-site activities schedule, for that evening and the following day, and more.

I love this special one of a kind place and plan to visit as soon as my schedule permits. This is in my mind the finest Eco resort on the planet and I am a very experienced traveler having been to Costa Rica many times.

WHY WE WANT TO VISIT THE LODGE AT CHAA CREEK (AGAIN)
We have traveled to many places in the world, and Belize is one of our all-time favorites.  The appeal of Belize is that in one small, easily traversed country, we found adventure, stunning sights, magnificent animals as well as soul-restoring luxury.  A hike in the jungle followed by a massage or a facial in a world-class spa is an experience I would dearly love to repeat.
