I have been engaged for 3 years, I went through two harsh lay-offs since this time and the devastating Hurricane Ike, which put a financial strain on our relationship but we made it through the tough times so we know we are going to make it in the long run.  With this in mind we have been just recently denied a mortgage loan to buy a new house because the Hurricane totaled off two of our vehicles, only for the …

Amazing Luxury Jungle Adventure at a Top Rated Belize Resort

Our final day we spent hikng around the resort followed by a horseback riding tour with Robert- who was incredible. We were beginners, he took us through the trails of the property and provided some good Mayan history lessons, too. You really can’t beat riding a horse through the amazing jungle trails.

From what my parents told me about their trips to Costa Rica, it sounds like Belize will be very similar in many ways. However, neither they nor myself have ever seen Mayan temples.
I grew up near St. Louis, MO. Right across the river there are a number of mounds built by the Mississipians, which was a very advanced culture for their time. There are several very large burial mounds in the area, and some believe the Mississipians may have …

We visited Chaa Creek last summer and since then have been dreaming about returning – this time with a larger group!  The place was so wonderful we want all of our family to experience it.
When you stay at Chaa Creek, you feel very close to nature.  You fall asleep to the sound of croaking frogs and awaken to singing birds.  The grounds are landscaped with palms and tropical fruit trees, and iguanas live among the …

A recent visit to Chaa Creek inspired me to join TA and post a review. Not like CC needs another rave, but it deserves one. It’s a fantastic Belize resort where the owners and staff get every detail right. Service is incredibly friendly, unobtrusive, and superb. The location is great for day trips (to Tikal in Guatemala, caves, etc.), but the resort grounds are so wonderful it’s hard to leave. Food was very good, and the open-air dining pavilion was beautiful. The …

They also have a bike shop (guided or unguided) and canoes to take into town or just leisurely paddle down the river. Breakfast and …
